IVAN DA Siberi puer SEEDRINE 96 g is a caffeine-free herbal tea brick made with fermented fireweed tea and Siberian forest ingredients such as cedar needles, cedar nuts, cones and pine buds. People usually choose this kind of drink when they want a deep, rich cup with a resinous, woody character, but without the stimulating effect of black tea or coffee. It suits a calm evening, a quiet break during the day, or moments when you want something warming and aromatic rather than sweet.
The “puer” idea here refers not to classic pu-erh from tea leaves, but to the dense pressed format and the rounded, mature taste created by fermentation. Fermented fireweed, also known as Ivan tea, develops a smoother and darker profile than plain dried herbs. This process softens grassy notes and brings out a fuller, almost earthy character. Cedar needles and pine buds add a fresh conifer aroma, while cedar nuts and cones give the blend extra depth and a slightly balsamic tone.
What makes this Ivan Da herbal drink interesting is the combination of forest botanicals with fermented fireweed. Fireweed has a long tradition in Eastern European herbal tea culture, especially as a naturally caffeine-free alternative to regular tea. In this blend, it acts as the base that ties together the brighter evergreen notes and the warmer woody nuances. Because the tea is pressed into segments, the flavour opens gradually in the pot, and repeated infusions can reveal different sides of the blend: first more resinous and bright, later softer and rounder.
This herbal tea is a good fit for those who enjoy layered, non-fruity infusions and want a more distinctive alternative to standard mint or chamomile. It can work well in a slow evening ritual, during colder weather, or as a warming table drink to share. If you are sensitive to strongly aromatic herbs or tree-derived ingredients, start with a lighter brew and see how the flavour suits you.
