Customer Questions
How does the pressed format affect the brewing process and flavor compared to loose leaf tea?
The pressed format of this tea means the large-leaf black tea and botanicals are compacted into solid segments or cakes. During brewing, hot water penetrates this dense structure slowly, causing the leaves and juniper pieces to gradually unfurl. This controlled release means the first infusion draws out a deep, concentrated, and resinous flavor from the tea and forest botanicals. As the leaves fully open, subsequent steeps—typically a second and sometimes a third—extract a softer, more rounded profile, where the aromatic notes of juniper and cedar cone become more distinct. This multi-infusion capability makes the pressed format practical if you prefer to extend a tea session or enjoy noticing how flavors evolve. Unlike many loose-leaf blends that are fully spent after one steep, here you can brew the same portion two or three times, with water temperature and steeping time (e.g., 3–5 minutes per infusion) being the main adjustments. It’s a format chosen for slower, more deliberate preparation, where the unfolding of the tea itself becomes part of the experience.
What does 'caffeine-free' mean for a blend with black tea, and how does the taste compare to regular black tea?
While black tea naturally contains caffeine, this specific blend is described as caffeine-free, indicating the leaves have been processed or selected to remove or minimize caffeine content. This means you can expect the deep, earthy base and malty notes characteristic of large-leaf black tea, but without the sharp stimulating effect. The flavor profile is built around that foundational tea body, which is then layered with the bright, pine-like aroma of juniper and the softer, balsamic note of cedar cone.Compared to a standard black tea, the result is more complex and aromatic—less about briskness and more about a warming, resinous, and woody character. The absence of caffeine shifts its typical use case: it becomes suitable for evenings, relaxation, or any time you want the rich, comforting taste of black tea without affecting sleep or causing jitters. It’s a choice for flavor exploration rather than an energy boost, fitting into moments of quiet enjoyment or as a warming drink after being outdoors in colder weather.
I enjoy herbal teas with forest or woody notes. How pronounced are the juniper and cedar cone flavors in this blend?
The juniper and cedar cone are key botanicals that define this blend’s forest character. Juniper contributes a bright, crisp, and distinctly pine-like aroma—it’s the note that gives the infusion a fresh, almost uplifting edge. Cedar cone, on the other hand, offers a softer, more rounded conifer presence with a balsamic quality, adding depth and a slight resinous sweetness that balances the sharper juniper.Together, they create a layered profile that is more complex and aromatic than plain black tea. The flavors are pronounced enough to be clearly noticeable, especially if you enjoy bold, non-sweet herbal notes, but they are integrated with the tea base so the overall experience is balanced—earthy and woody rather than overwhelmingly medicinal or singular. The pressed format and gradual unfolding during steeping help these aromatics release steadily, meaning they can be appreciated across multiple infusions. If your preference leans toward smoky, conifer, or generally robust herbal teas, this blend’s flavor direction should align well.

What it is

IVAN DA Siberi-Tiibet kadaka must tee 96 g is a pressed herbal tea drink built around large-leaf black tea with juniper and cedar cone. People usually choose this kind of blend for its deep, resinous taste and warming character rather than for a sharp stimulating effect, as this version is described as caffeine-free. The flavour profile is earthy, slightly woody and aromatic, making it a good option for slow tea breaks, colder weather, or evenings when you want something rich and expressive.

Key components

The interesting part of this Ivan Da tea is the combination of classic tea depth with forest botanicals:

  • Juniper — traditionally valued in Northern and mountain regions for its bright, pine-like aroma, which gives the infusion a crisp, fresh edge.
  • Cedar cone — adds a softer conifer note with a balsamic, slightly rounded taste.

Together they shape a brew that feels fuller and more layered than plain black tea. Because the tea is pressed into segments, the leaves and plant pieces open gradually during steeping, which helps the drink develop body and aroma over more than one infusion.

When people choose it

This herbal tea and botanical drink suits people who enjoy bold, non-sweet flavours and want variety beyond standard fruit or mint blends. It can fit well into:

  • An evening pause
  • A quiet work break
  • A warming cup after time outdoors

If you like teas with a forest character, smoky depth, or the scent of conifer herbs, this blend may be especially appealing. Re-steeping is a practical detail here: the profile can change from a denser first cup to a softer, more rounded second infusion.

Important notes

As with any juniper-containing tea, moderation makes sense, especially if you are sensitive to strong herbal ingredients. If you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or choosing herbal products for regular use alongside medication, it is wise to ask a qualified specialist whether this blend is suitable for you.
