Preparation: 1 tablespoon is poured with 1 glass (200 ml) of hot boiled water and heated in a water bath for 30 minutes, cooled, strained, squeezed, and the volume of the resulting decoction is brought to 200 ml with boiled water. Take in a warm form, 1/2 glass 2-3 times a day, an hour before meals.

LEKRASET Aedvaagijuured are chopped elecampane roots and rhizomes, not a tea in bags. Dense plant material does not release its constituents when simply steeped in boiling water: a proper decoction requires a water bath.
Elecampane root decoction is not used during pregnancy and breastfeeding — this is stated directly in the product information. Elecampane contains essential oils, saponins and bitter substances with a pronounced biological profile, which is why it is avoided during these periods.
Most familiar herbal teas are made from leaves, flowers or fruits — they release their constituents easily when steeped in boiling water for 5–10 minutes. Roots and rhizomes are different: they are the dense, woody part of the plant, in which the constituents are bound much more firmly. That is why elecampane needs a water bath rather than just boiling water.
