Radograd Hemp Flour is a partially de-oiled flour produced from the seeds of industrial hemp (Cannabis sativa L., certified food-grade varieties containing ≤0.2% THC). After cold-pressing the hemp seeds to extract the majority of the seed oil, the remaining press cake is finely milled to produce a smooth, slightly greenish flour with the characteristic mild, nutty, and slightly earthy flavour of hemp seed. Hemp flour is notably high in protein — typically 30–35% of dry weight — providing all essential amino acids with a well-balanced amino acid profile, as well as being rich in dietary fibre.
The fat fraction remaining in the flour contributes a natural balance of omega-6 (linoleic acid) and omega-3 (alpha-linolenic acid, ALA) polyunsaturated fatty acids in approximately a 3:1 ratio. Alpha-linolenic acid (ALA) contributes to the maintenance of normal blood cholesterol levels — this beneficial effect is obtained with a daily intake of 2 g of ALA (EU Regulation 432/2012). Hemp flour also contains chlorophyll (the natural green pigment of plant tissue) and vitamin E (tocopherols) from the residual oil fraction.
