Victoria Beauty Depilation Cream with Aloe Vera for Sensitive Skin "3 minutes" is a cosmetic chemical hair removal cream from the Victoria Beauty range by Rubella Beauty (Bulgaria), formulated for effective, gentle and rapid hair removal on all body areas, with a special formulation optimised for sensitive skin. Chemical depilation creams work through a keratolytic chemistry mechanism: the active ingredient (typically thioglycolic acid salts — calcium thioglycolate) breaks the disulfide bonds (–S–S–) in the keratin protein structure of the hair shaft. Keratin is the structural protein of hair and nails; the disulfide bridges between adjacent cysteine amino acid residues provide the tensile strength and structural rigidity of the hair. When the disulfide bonds are broken by the thioglycolate reducing agent in an alkaline environment, the hair cortex loses its structural integrity and the hair shaft can be removed by simply wiping or rinsing the cream from the skin. The "3 minutes" format is designed for efficient hair removal with a minimal skin contact time. Aloe vera gel extract is incorporated in the formula to soothe and moisturise the skin during and after the hair removal process, counteracting the slight irritant potential of the alkaline thioglycolate formula.
