Shungite cleans and mineralizes tap water, makes its structure analogous to the "water of life". It has the ability to remove and absorb all that is harmful, but to concentrate and restore what is useful. Shungite cleans water from practically all organic substances, incl. also oil and pesticides; of many metals and non-metals; bacteria and microorganisms.
Use: add 150g of shungite to 1.5-5 liters of water, keep the minerals in the water for 2-3 days. Use treated water for drinking, cooking, as a bath additive, etc. Clean the minerals once in 2 weeks under running water, change the used minerals after 5-6 months.
Store at a temperature up to +40ºC, in a dry place, out of the reach of children.
Product Overview
Planeta Zdorovia ŠUNGIIT LOODUSLIK VEEFILTER 500G is a shungite water filter mineral for home use. People usually choose shungite when they want a simple, non-electrical way to improve tap water before drinking or cooking. In traditional household use, this carbon-rich stone is valued for its adsorbing surface: unwanted particles can bind to it, which may help reduce visible cloudiness and make water taste softer and fresher.
How it Works
Shungite acts mainly as a porous mineral sorbent. Its surface can attract and hold various impurities from water, while the contact time allows the water to interact with the stone’s mineral matrix. This is why shungite is often described not only as a filter material, but also as a mineralizing medium. Rather than mechanically straining water like a cartridge, it works through adsorption — substances adhere to the stone’s surface during soaking.
Versatile Applications
The simplicity of this format makes it a popular alternative to standard household filtration methods. Loose shungite stones can be used in a water container without special equipment for various purposes:
- Kitchen use: Preparing water for tea, soups, or other cooking needs.
- General hydration: Refreshing water for drinking.
- Bath water: Enhancing water for bathing.
The 500 g pack is practical if you plan to refresh the stones over time or prepare larger amounts in rotation.
Important Usage Notes
Shungite has a long history of use in Eastern Europe as a mineral for water preparation. Much of its reputation comes from this tradition and from its naturally high carbon content. At the same time, it is best seen as a household water-treatment aid, not as a medical tool and not as a replacement for regulated purification systems where water quality is uncertain.
To ensure proper use, please observe the following guidelines:
- Follow the product instructions carefully, including rinsing and soaking time.
- Perform periodic washing of the stones.
- Ensure timely replacement of the stones.
- Note: If your tap water is microbiologically unsafe or comes from an untested source, shungite should not be the only purification method.

Customer Questions
For effective filtration, use approximately 100-150 grams of shungite per liter of water. With the 500g pack, this means you can treat 3-5 liters at once in a large jar or pitcher, or maintain 1-2 liters of continuously filtered water that you draw from and refill daily. The key is ensuring the stones have adequate surface area contact with the water - simply adding a handful to a small bottle won't provide sufficient interaction time for noticeable improvement.
The shungite stones gradually become saturated with adsorbed impurities and should be replaced every 6-12 months for optimal performance. Heavy usage (daily filtration of multiple liters) may require replacement closer to 6 months, while occasional use might extend this period. You'll notice reduced effectiveness when the water no longer tastes noticeably fresher or appears less cloudy after filtration.
The shungite stones are suitable for multiple household applications beyond drinking water. For bath water, add 50-100g of stones directly to a full bathtub and allow them to remain during your bath. The carbon-rich surface helps reduce chlorine and other compounds that can affect skin feel, though you won't see dramatic changes in bath water quality since the contact time is relatively short.
