The product is formulated to work in approximately three minutes, which is shorter than many depilatory creams. This shorter window is intentional for sensitive skin: the longer the active ingredient (calcium thioglycolate) stays on, the more it can irritate. Start checking at the two-minute mark by gently wiping a small test patch with a damp cloth or the spatula if one is provided. If the hair comes away easily without resistance, rinse the entire area immediately. If not, you can wait up to another minute, but do not exceed the maximum time stated on the packaging — usually around five to six minutes total. Leaving it on longer will not give better results and increases the risk of redness or burning. Always rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water, not hot, and pat dry instead of rubbing.
