Customer Questions
The product contains the sweeteners stevia (a plant glycoside) and isomalt (a sugar alcohol), but it also lists caramel syrup (molasses, 15%) — a sugar-containing ingredient, so the rings cannot be called completely sugar-free. Isomalt is absorbed more slowly than regular sugar and produces a smaller glycaemic response, but it still contains calories and carbohydrates, just in a different form. Stevia has practically no effect on blood glucose levels.
Amaranth belongs to the pseudocereals: botanically it is not related to wheat, rye or barley. Its seeds are valued for their rich, slightly nutty flavour and nutritional composition — which is why it is increasingly included in products aimed at a more balanced diet.
The rings can be eaten straight from the pack — they are crunchy and sweet enough on their own thanks to the cocoa powder, stevia and isomalt. This makes them convenient to take on the go, to the office, or as a light snack between meals.
