What it is
LEKRASET Põldmuraka lehed 40 g is a herbal tea made from dried blackberry leaves. People usually choose this kind of plant drink when they want a simple, traditional infusion with a mildly tannic taste and a broad botanical profile. Blackberry leaf has long been used in folk herbal practice in Europe as a warming, settling tea, especially in cooler seasons or when a more grounding drink feels appropriate.
Key components
The main compounds naturally found in blackberry leaves are tannins, along with flavonoids and other plant polyphenols. Tannins give the tea its slightly astringent character — that “dry” feeling in the mouth — and this is also why blackberry leaf infusions are often associated with soothing mucous membranes. Polyphenols act as antioxidant plant substances, helping protect the leaf itself and making herbal teas like this valued for their rich, bitter‑tart plant chemistry. Because this is a loose dried herb rather than an instant drink, the infusion develops gradually and has a more traditional herbal profile.
- Tannins – provide a mildly astringent, “dry” sensation.
- Flavonoids – part of the plant’s antioxidant profile.
- Other plant polyphenols – contribute to the rich, bitter‑tart chemistry.
Who may choose it
This tea may suit people who enjoy classic single‑herb infusions and want to rotate different botanical drinks through the week. It can be a good option for those who prefer less sweet beverages, appreciate old‑fashioned herbal traditions, or are looking for a warming cup in the evening. Blackberry leaf tea is not fruity like berry tea made from the fruit — it is more earthy, green and gently sharp, which many herbal tea drinkers specifically look for.
Cautions and notes
As with many tannin‑rich herbs, it is often better enjoyed thoughtfully rather than in large amounts at once. If you are pregnant, breastfeeding, using medicines, or planning long‑term use of concentrated herbal infusions, it is sensible to check with a healthcare professional first. Stop use if individual sensitivity appears.
- Consult a healthcare professional if pregnant, breastfeeding, taking medication, or planning long‑term concentrated use.
- Discontinue use if any individual sensitivity occurs.
