Taiga Storeroom Ivan Chai with Sea Buckthorn and Marigold is a Siberian herbal tea blend from the "Tsarsky Chai" (Tsar's Tea) range, crafted from three botanicals: fermented fireweed (Epilobium angustifolium / Koporye tea / Ivan Chai), sea buckthorn berries (Hippophae rhamnoides) and marigold flowers (Calendula officinalis). Fermented Ivan Chai (fireweed, koporye tea) is produced by a traditional Russian fermentation process applied to the fresh leaves of Epilobium angustifolium — the same species as willowherb — creating a naturally caffeine-free beverage with a pleasantly earthy, slightly honey-like flavour and a bright amber liquor. Fermentation changes the biochemical profile of the leaf, developing a richer, softer flavour compared to unfermented fireweed, and releasing the characteristic aromatic compounds. Sea buckthorn berries (Hippophae rhamnoides) are among the most vitamin-C-rich berries in the plant kingdom (can exceed 900 mg/100 g) and add a characteristic tart-sour citrus-like brightness and an orange colour to the infusion. Marigold flowers (Calendula officinalis) contribute a gentle herbal sweetness and a golden hue. The resulting blend has a warming, aromatic, lightly tart character with a long, pleasant aftertaste. 100 g loose blend.

What it is
Taeznaya Kladovaya Ivan Chai with Sea Buckthorn and Marigold is a loose herbal tea for those who want a warm, aromatic drink without caffeine. People usually choose this kind of blend for an evening cup, for a gentler alternative to black tea or coffee, or simply for its rich, slightly tart taste. The base is fermented fireweed, also known as Ivan Chai or Koporye tea, a traditional drink from the Slavic region that has long been valued as a mellow herbal infusion.
Key components
What makes this tea interesting is the way the ingredients complement each other:
- Fermented fireweed — has a softer, rounder flavour than plain dried willowherb; the fermentation process helps develop deeper aroma notes and reduces the grassy sharpness of the leaf.
- Sea buckthorn berries — bring bright, tangy fruit accents and a vivid colour to the cup; widely known as naturally rich berries, especially appreciated in northern food traditions.
- Marigold — adds a mild floral note and helps balance the sharper edge of sea buckthorn, so the blend tastes fuller and smoother rather than sour.
When people choose it
In practical terms, this herbal infusion suits moments when you want flavour and warmth without the stimulating effect of caffeine. It can fit well into a quiet morning, an afternoon break, or an evening wind-down when coffee or strong tea feels too intense. Because it is a loose blend, you can also adjust the strength in the teapot depending on whether you prefer a lighter, more delicate cup or a deeper, more full-bodied infusion.
Important notes
This product is a tea, not a medicinal remedy. If you are sensitive to any botanical ingredients, or if you are choosing herbal drinks during pregnancy, breastfeeding, or alongside a specific eating plan, it is sensible to check whether the blend suits you personally.

Customer Questions
Use water that is just below boiling, around 90–95 °C, to avoid extracting too many bitter compounds from the fermented fireweed. Pour the water over the loose blend in a teapot or a heat‑proof infuser, using about 1 gram of tea per 200 ml of water. Let it steep for 3–5 minutes; this range allows the mellow, rounded notes of the fireweed to develop while the bright, tangy accents of sea buckthorn and the gentle floral balance of marigold become apparent. If you prefer a lighter cup, reduce the amount of tea or steep for a shorter time; for a fuller, more robust infusion, increase the quantity or steep a minute or two longer. Because the blend is loose, you can easily adjust the ratio to suit your taste on each brew. Remember to strain the tea before serving to avoid any lingering leaf fragments. This method preserves the natural aroma and flavor without introducing caffeine or other stimulants. Consult a specialist if you are sensitive to any botanical ingredients, pregnant, breastfeeding, or taking medication.
Place the tea in a tightly sealed container—such as a glass jar with a screw‑on lid or a resealable plastic pouch—to protect it from moisture and air. Store the container in a cool, dry area of your kitchen, away from direct sunlight, heat sources, and strong‑smelling foods or spices, which can affect the tea’s aroma. Avoid refrigeration unless the climate is very humid; the cool temperature can actually help maintain freshness if the container is airtight. For best flavor, use the tea within six months of opening, though it will remain safe for longer if kept properly sealed. When you open the container, give the tea a quick stir to redistribute any settled ingredients before measuring for your next brew. Consult a specialist if you are sensitive to any botanical ingredients, pregnant, breastfeeding, or taking medication.
Because the blend contains no caffeine, it is ideal for moments when you want warmth and flavor without stimulation. A quiet morning, a relaxed afternoon break, or an evening wind‑down are all suitable times to enjoy a cup. The fermented fireweed provides a mellow base, while sea buckthorn adds a bright, tangy note and marigold offers a subtle floral balance, making the tea pleasant to sip on its own or alongside light snacks such as fresh fruit, nuts, or a small pastry. If you prefer a stronger flavor, use more tea or steep longer; for a lighter taste, reduce the amount or steep briefly. The loose format allows you to experiment with different strengths to match your mood. This tea is not a substitute for a balanced diet and should be enjoyed as part of a varied routine. Consult a specialist if you are sensitive to any botanical ingredients, pregnant, breastfeeding, or taking medication.
