What this product is
Emelyanovskaya Biofabrika fermented herbal tea with fireweed and sea buckthorn is a caffeine-free herbal drink for those who want a softer alternative to black or green tea. It combines fermented fireweed leaves with dried sea buckthorn berries, giving the infusion a rounded, slightly fruity taste and a fuller aroma than plain herbal tea.
Key components
- Fireweed (Ivan tea) — a plant with a long tradition in Northern and Eastern Europe as a warming infusion. Fermentation oxidizes the leaves in a controlled way, reducing the grassy note and bringing out deeper, tea-like tones for a smoother, more насыщенный flavour while remaining naturally caffeine-free.
- Sea buckthorn berries — add a bright tart accent and naturally contain plant compounds that make the blend taste livelier and more balanced, creating a layered cup where the mellow fireweed base meets gentle fruity sharpness.
When people choose it
- For a quiet evening
- As a warm drink during cooler weather
- When preferring herbal beverages over classic tea and coffee
How to use
This product suits anyone looking to expand their tea selection with a traditional Baltic-region style herbal infusion. It fits easily into an everyday menu:
- Warm drink with breakfast
- Between meals
- Later in the day when caffeine is not desired
Important notes
- If you are sensitive to herbal ingredients or berries, start with a small amount.
- Avoid use if any ingredient does not suit you.

Customer Questions
Emelyanovskaya Biofabrika fermented herbal tea with fireweed and sea buckthorn is explicitly caffeine-free. This distinguishes it from traditional black or green teas, which derive their stimulant effects from caffeine. The product combines fermented fireweed leaves (often called Ivan tea) with dried sea buckthorn berries. The fermentation process oxidizes the leaves in a controlled manner, which reduces grassy notes and brings out deeper, tea-like tones without introducing caffeine.
The flavor profile of this blend is distinct from plain herbal teas due to the specific combination of ingredients. The base consists of fermented fireweed leaves. Fermentation oxidizes the leaves, which reduces the typical "grassy" or raw plant notes found in unfermented herbs. Instead, it brings out deeper, smoother, and more tea-like tones, creating a mellow foundation that is often described as rich and full-bodied.
To prepare this herbal tea effectively, you should use hot water, typically just off the boil (around 90-95°C), to ensure the fermented leaves and dried berries release their full aroma and flavor. Because the fireweed leaves are fermented, they behave somewhat similarly to traditional tea leaves, allowing for a robust infusion that is smoother than unfermented herbs.
