ORGANIC ALTAY Sesame Oil is a cold-pressed culinary oil made from sesame seeds grown and harvested in the ecologically clean Altai region. Unlike refined sesame oils, this version keeps the natural amber colour, the soft nutty aroma and the full spectrum of substances that the seed offers — because no heat or chemical solvents are used during pressing.
Sesame seeds are one of the oldest cultivated oilseeds in the world, used in Indian, Middle Eastern and East Asian kitchens for thousands of years. In Ayurvedic tradition sesame oil has long been considered a "warming" oil, valued both as food and as a base for body massage. The Altay version follows the same simple principle: pressed gently, filtered, bottled — nothing added, nothing removed.
What is interesting about the composition. Sesame oil is naturally rich in unsaturated fatty acids — mainly oleic (omega-9) and linoleic (omega-6) — together making up around 80% of the fat profile. It also contains characteristic lignans such as sesamin and sesamolin, plus vitamin E (tocopherols) and phytosterols. These compounds give the oil its remarkable stability: sesame oil resists oxidation noticeably better than many other unrefined oils, so it keeps its taste longer on the shelf.
How to use it in the kitchen. The light, unroasted cold-pressed oil has a mild flavour and works best as a finishing touch — drizzled over salads, hummus, grain bowls, steamed vegetables, noodles or cottage cheese. It pairs beautifully with greens, carrots, beetroot, lemon, garlic and tahini-based dressings. For gentle warm dishes it can be added at the end of cooking; for high-heat frying it is better to choose a more heat-resistant fat and keep this oil for cold preparations, where its aroma and nutrients are preserved.
Who might enjoy it. People who like to vary the fats in their menu beyond olive and sunflower, fans of Asian and Middle Eastern cuisine, and anyone looking for an organic, unrefined oil with a clear origin. A tablespoon a day in food is a pleasant way to add plant-based fatty acids and lignans to a balanced diet.
Please note: sesame is a common allergen, so people sensitive to sesame seeds should avoid this product. Store the bottle tightly closed in a cool, dark place and use within the period indicated on the label. This is a food product, not a medicine, and it does not replace a varied diet.
