Kamelia Rosehip Edible Oil is a cold-pressed culinary oil extracted from the seeds and hips of wild rosehip (Rosa canina). It has a distinctive, pleasantly tart flavour with mild sour notes that make it quite different from conventional neutral cooking oils. The oil is rich in polyunsaturated fatty acids — predominantly linoleic acid (omega-6) and α-linolenic acid (omega-3, ALA) — as well as natural fat-soluble vitamins A, C and E, and antioxidants. Alpha-linolenic acid (ALA) contributes to the maintenance of normal blood cholesterol levels; the beneficial effect is obtained with a daily intake of 2 g of ALA.
Rosehip oil is best consumed raw to preserve its delicate aroma and sensitive vitamins. It pairs beautifully with oatmeal, buckwheat porridge, fruit salads, smoothies, yogurt and desserts. Cold sauces for grilled meats or kebabs are another classic use. This oil is not suitable for frying — its low smoke point causes rapid degradation of flavour and nutrients when heated above 40 °C.

Kamelia Rosehip Edible Oil is a cold-pressed culinary oil made from wild rosehip, chosen by people who want more character in their food than neutral oils can offer. Its taste is lightly tart with a gentle sour note, so even a small amount can change the flavour of porridge, yogurt, fruit salads, smoothies or cold sauces. This is not a frying oil but a finishing oil: it is meant to be added raw, where its aroma and sensitive nutrients stay intact.
What makes this oil interesting is its fatty acid profile. It contains a high proportion of polyunsaturated fats, especially omega-6 linoleic acid and omega-3 alpha-linolenic acid, also known as ALA. ALA is an essential fatty acid, which means the body cannot make it on its own and must get it from food. It plays a role in cell membranes and helps maintain normal blood cholesterol levels when enough is consumed as part of the diet. Because the oil is cold-pressed, these delicate fats are preserved without intensive heat processing.
Rosehip has a long tradition in European food culture, usually in teas, syrups and preserves, valued for its vivid, slightly sharp fruit character. In oil form, it offers a different way to use the plant: less like a cooking fat and more like a nutrient-rich accent ingredient. The naturally present vitamins A, C and E and antioxidant compounds add to the appeal, especially for those who like unrefined food oils with a more distinctive botanical profile.
This rosehip food oil suits people who enjoy experimenting with healthy food and want variety in cold dishes, breakfast bowls or light dressings. It can fit especially well into a menu where different plant oils are rotated for flavour and fatty acid balance. Because polyunsaturated oils are sensitive to heat and oxidation, it is best used only in unheated meals and stored carefully after opening. If you are following a specific diet plan or need to monitor fat intake closely, it is sensible to consider the portion size as part of your overall nutrition.
