TAYRA Thai Rice Oil is a refined rice bran oil produced from polished rice (Oryza sativa) crops grown in Thailand. Grown in the warm, humid climate that is ideal for high-quality rice cultivation, Thai rice is cold-pressed using modern extraction technology to yield an oil with a light, pleasant aroma and a mild, delicate flavour that many describe as superior to standard sunflower or olive oils in versatility. The refined oil has a high smoke point that makes it suitable for frying, stir-frying and deep-frying without forming smoke or altering the flavour of other ingredients.

Rice bran oil is notable for its naturally balanced polyunsaturated fatty acid profile — approximately 46% oleic acid (Omega-9), 36% linoleic acid (Omega-6) and 1% alpha-linolenic acid (Omega-3). It also contains natural vitamin E (tocopherols and tocotrienols) and gamma-oryzanol, a unique ester found almost exclusively in rice bran oil, which acts as a potent natural antioxidant (scavenging free radicals approximately 10 times more efficiently than vitamin E). Suitable for frying, salad dressings, sauces, baking and preserving. 500 ml bottle.

Customer Questions
What is the smoke point of TAYRA Rice Oil, and is it suitable for high-heat cooking methods like stir-frying?
TAYRA Thai Rice Oil is a refined rice bran oil specifically processed to withstand higher temperatures, which gives it a notably high smoke point. This characteristic makes it an excellent choice for high-heat culinary techniques such as stir-frying, wok cooking, sautéing, and roasting. Unlike unrefined oils that may break down, smoke, or impart bitter flavors when heated, this oil remains stable and clean-tasting even under intense heat. The refinement process ensures that the oil does not dominate the natural flavors of your ingredients, allowing the taste of vegetables, meats, or spices to shine through. For Asian-style cooking where fast, high-heat methods are standard, this oil provides a practical solution that minimizes smoke in the kitchen while maintaining a neutral profile. It is also suitable for general frying where a clean taste is preferred over the distinct notes of olive or sesame oils. Always ensure your pan is adequately heated before adding the oil to maximize its performance and prevent sticking, but avoid heating it beyond its smoke point to preserve its quality and nutritional integrity.
Does this rice oil have a strong flavor, and can it be used for cold dishes or salad dressings?
One of the defining features of TAYRA Rice Oil is its mild taste and light aroma. Because it is refined, it lacks the heavy, grassy, or nutty notes found in some other plant oils, making it virtually neutral on the palate. This subtlety makes it highly versatile for both hot and cold applications. You can confidently use it in cold dishes, such as mixed green salads, where you want the oil to provide texture and richness without altering the delicate flavors of fresh vegetables or fruits. It is also ideal for preparing marinades, as it helps distribute spices and herbs evenly without adding competing tastes. For dressings, it blends well with vinegar, citrus juices, or soy sauce to create emulsions that are smooth and consistent. Its neutral profile ensures that it complements rather than competes with other ingredients, making it a practical staple for a kitchen that values flexibility. Whether you are tossing a warm grain bowl or preparing a chilled appetizer, this oil integrates seamlessly into the dish.
What specific nutrients or compounds are present in this oil, and how do they benefit the product's stability?
TAYRA Rice Oil contains a balanced fatty acid profile that includes a high share of oleic acid (Omega-9), linoleic acid (Omega-6), and a smaller amount of alpha-linolenic acid (Omega-3). This composition contributes to a smooth texture and a pleasant mouthfeel in recipes. Beyond basic fatty acids, the oil is notable for its content of Vitamin E compounds and gamma-oryzanol. Vitamin E acts as a natural antioxidant, helping to protect the oil's own fats from oxidation, which helps maintain its quality and shelf life. Gamma-oryzanol is a component specifically associated with rice bran oil, adding to its unique chemical profile. These natural compounds work together to enhance the oil's stability, ensuring that it remains fresh and effective for cooking over time. This balance of fatty acids and antioxidants makes it a robust choice for everyday use, providing both culinary performance and inherent preservation benefits without the need for artificial additives.
How should I store this oil after opening to ensure it stays fresh and maintains its quality?
As with any edible oil, proper storage is essential to preserve the flavor, aroma, and nutritional integrity of TAYRA Rice Oil. After opening, it is best to store the bottle in a cool, dark place away from direct sunlight and heat sources, such as stoves or ovens. Exposure to light and high temperatures can accelerate oxidation, which may alter the taste and reduce the effectiveness of the natural antioxidants like Vitamin E. Follow the specific storage instructions indicated on the package for the most accurate guidance. Keeping the cap tightly sealed when not in use will also help prevent exposure to air, which can contribute to rancidity. While this oil is refined for stability, treating it with care will ensure that it remains fresh and pleasant for your cooking needs. If you notice any unusual odor or taste, it is advisable to discard the oil, as these are signs that it may have degraded.

Mild Taste and Versatile Uses

TAYRA Thai Rice Oil is a refined rice bran oil for people who want one bottle that works both in the pan and at the table. It has a mild taste and light aroma, so it does not dominate other ingredients, which makes it a practical option for:

  • Vegetables
  • Rice dishes
  • Wok meals
  • Marinades
  • Baking
  • Cold dishes

Fatty Acid Profile

What makes rice bran oil interesting is its balance between culinary stability and naturally occurring plant compounds. Its fatty acid profile includes:

  • Oleic acid (Omega-9) – high share
  • Linoleic acid (Omega-6)
  • Alpha-linolenic acid (Omega-3) – smaller amount

In plain terms, this gives the oil a smooth texture and helps it stay pleasant in recipes where you want a neutral flavour rather than the stronger character of some other oils.

Notable Features

Another notable feature of TAYRA rice oil is the presence of:

  • Vitamin E compounds – act as an antioxidant, helping protect the oil’s own fats from oxidation.
  • Gamma-oryzanol – a rice bran component especially associated with this type of oil.

The oil is also refined and has a high smoke point, which means it tolerates higher cooking temperatures better than many unrefined oils. That is why people often choose it for frying or stir-frying when they want less smoke and a cleaner taste.

Cooking and Storage Tips

Rice bran oil has been widely used in Asian cooking, where fast, high-heat methods are common. This Thai oil fits well into a modern kitchen if you alternate between:

  • Sautéing
  • Roasting
  • Making dressings
  • Preparing lighter meals

without switching between several different fats.

As with any edible oil, it is best used as part of a varied diet and with reasonable portions. If you follow a specific fat intake plan or need tailored nutrition advice, check with a qualified specialist. After opening, store it as indicated on the package so the flavour and freshness stay at their best.
