Herbal tea with blackcurrant, 40 g – Emeljanovskaja Biofabrika

What this tea is

Emelyanovskaya Biofabrika Black Currant Herbal Tea 40 g is a single-ingredient herbal infusion made from dried Ribes nigrum leaves. People usually choose this kind of tea for its naturally rich blackcurrant aroma, fresh green taste and simple composition without flavourings or blends. It is a good option for those who enjoy classic northern herbal drinks and want something more characterful than plain leaf tea.

Black currant leaves have long been used in Russia and across Northern Europe as a fragrant plant for home-brewed herbal drinks. Their value is not only in the scent, but also in the plant’s naturally occurring compounds.

Naturally occurring components

The leaves contain plant substances that help protect the leaf itself from oxidation and shape the infusion’s slightly tangy, mildly astringent character:

• Vitamin C — a naturally occurring component of the leaf.
• Polyphenols — plant compounds that give the cup its brisk, lively profile.

In plain terms, these components shape both the taste and the appeal of the tea for people who prefer herbs with a bright, lively profile rather than a neutral cup.

A pure, single-ingredient cup

What makes this product interesting is its purity: this loose leaf herbal tea contains only dried black currant leaves, with no added aromas and no extra herbs to mask the plant’s own character. That means the cup stays true to the raw material — berry-like on the nose, green-golden in colour, and pleasantly brisk in flavour. A loose form also lets the leaf open properly during brewing, which helps release more aroma than heavily powdered or overly processed tea blends.

When people choose it

This herbal tea suits people who like:

• Caffeine-free warm drinks in the evening.
• Seasonal variety in their tea shelf.
• Traditional botanical infusions with a distinct countryside feel.

It can fit nicely into a quiet pause during the day or as a warming cup in cooler weather.

Good to know

If you are sensitive to herbs or prefer very mild infusions, start with a lighter brew and see how the taste suits you. As with any botanical drink, extra caution is sensible during pregnancy, breastfeeding, or if you use medication and want to be sure a herb is appropriate for you.
