No, you should not use this oil for frying or high-heat cooking. Tudra oil (camelina seed oil) is a cold-pressed product specifically recommended for cold applications. Using it for frying, sautéing, or baking at high temperatures can degrade its delicate polyunsaturated fatty acids (Omega-3 and Omega-6) and destroy the heat-sensitive Vitamin E. Additionally, the high heat will likely burn the oil, resulting in a bitter, acrid taste that ruins the dish.
Tudra oil is not a neutral oil like standard sunflower or canola oil. It has a distinctive, expressive flavor that is lightly peppery, with earthy notes reminiscent of radish or mustard greens. Because the taste is strong, you do not need to use large quantities to make an impact. A small drizzle is often sufficient to add depth and character to a dish.
