NATURALNIE MASLA Linaseemne toiduõli 250 ml is an unrefined cold-pressed flaxseed oil for people who want to add a more functional plant oil to meals without heating it. Flaxseed oil is especially valued for its naturally high content of omega-3 fatty acids, particularly alpha-linolenic acid (ALA). This is one of the main reasons people choose it for salad dressings, vegetable dishes, cold sauces or to enrich simple meals with a mild nutty note.
Why cold pressing matters
Cold pressing matters because the oil is obtained without intensive heat, which helps preserve the fatty acid profile found in flax seeds. ALA belongs to the family of polyunsaturated fats. In the body, it serves as a precursor from which small amounts of other omega-3 compounds can be formed. Even more importantly, it helps diversify the balance of fats in the menu, especially when meals are heavy in saturated fats or rely mostly on refined vegetable oils. Unrefined flaxseed oil is also appreciated for its characteristic taste and naturally occurring plant compounds that remain in the oil after gentle processing.
How to use it
This NATURALNIE MASLA food oil is best suited to cold use rather than frying. Its role is not to replace all cooking fats, but to give variety to the diet in a simple way. Many people like to add it to:
- Fresh salads
- Cooked grains after cooling slightly
- Cottage cheese
- Vegetable purees
- Hummus
- Yogurt-based sauces
It can also fit a balanced eating plan for those who prefer more plant-based foods, want extra omega-3 from non-fish sources, or simply enjoy traditional seed oils. Flax has a long history of use in European food culture, where the oil has been used as a finishing ingredient rather than a high-heat kitchen staple.
Storage and important notes
Because flaxseed oil is sensitive to light, air and heat, its quality depends a lot on proper storage after opening. It is best used in small amounts and added to food at the end, not during cooking. If you are trying flaxseed oil for the first time, start with a modest portion and see how its taste fits your meals. If you have known sensitivities to flax or oil seeds, or if you follow a medically supervised eating plan, check with a qualified professional before regular use.

Customer Questions
Cold-pressing is a method of mechanically extracting oil from flax seeds without using intensive heat or chemical solvents. This gentle process helps preserve the natural profile of polyunsaturated fats, including the alpha-linolenic acid (ALA) omega-3s, that are found in the seeds. The resulting oil is also unrefined, meaning it hasn't been further processed to bleach, deodorize, or strip away natural plant compounds, leaving you with an oil that carries its characteristic mild, nutty taste. While many refined oils are suitable for high-heat cooking, the very qualities that cold-pressed, unrefined flaxseed oil is valued for—its fatty acid profile and natural components—also make it sensitive to heat, which can degrade its quality. Therefore, its role is best as a finishing oil added to already prepared or cold foods rather than as a cooking fat.
This flaxseed oil is intended for cold use, making it a versatile addition to many meals without requiring cooking. A simple way to start is by drizzling a small amount over fresh salads or mixing it into homemade vinaigrettes. It also pairs well with cooked grains like quinoa or buckwheat once they have cooled slightly, adding a nutty note. For a quick, nutrient-rich boost, try stirring it into cottage cheese, plain yogurt, hummus, or vegetable purees like mashed avocado or pumpkin. Some people enjoy adding it to smoothies or blending it into yogurt-based sauces for vegetables. The key is to add it at the end of preparation, after any cooking is done, to maintain its properties. Using it this way helps diversify the types of fats in your diet, which can be particularly useful if your meals tend to rely on refined oils or are higher in saturated fats. It is not intended to replace all other dietary fats but to offer variety as part of a balanced eating plan.
Proper storage is crucial for maintaining the quality of unrefined flaxseed oil, as its polyunsaturated fats are sensitive to light, heat, and oxygen. To preserve its freshness and prevent it from turning rancid, always keep the bottle tightly closed in a cool, dark place—a pantry or cupboard away from the stove or oven is ideal. For longer-term storage, you can refrigerate it after opening; the oil may become slightly thicker or cloudy when chilled, but this is normal and doesn't affect quality. Once opened, aim to use the oil within a few weeks to a couple of months for the best experience, as exposure to air accelerates oxidation. Using it in smaller, regular amounts rather than saving it for occasional use is often recommended. If you notice an unusually sharp, bitter, or 'paint-like' odor, it's a sign the oil has likely spoiled and should not be consumed.
