Rubella Derma Intensive+ Insect Repellent Lotion 50ml (6-hour protection) is an insect repellent skin lotion from the Derma Intensive+ range (Rubella Beauty, Bulgaria), formulated with two active repellent agents: DEET (N,N-Diethyl-meta-toluamide, 15%) and Citriodiol® (PMD, p-Menthane-3,8-diol, from natural lemon eucalyptus). DEET is the most widely used and extensively studied synthetic insect repellent active, effective against a broad spectrum of biting insects. Citriodiol® (PMD) is a plant-derived repellent active obtained from the leaves of the lemon eucalyptus tree (Corymbia citriodora), providing a natural, characteristically fresh lemon-eucalyptus fragrance. The formula also contains aloe vera extract to moisturise and condition the skin. The lotion texture absorbs cleanly without leaving a sticky residue. Provides up to 6 hours of protection from mosquitoes and up to 4 hours from ticks. 50 ml.

What This Lotion Is
Rubella Beauty "RUBELLA" Derma Intensive+ Mosquito and Tick Repellent Lotion 50 ml is a skin lotion for times when you want practical protection outdoors without a heavy or sticky feel. People usually choose this type of insect repellent for:
- Walks in the forest
- Time by the water
- Gardening
- Travel and camping
- Evenings on the terrace when mosquitoes are active and ticks may be present in grass and bushes
Key Repellent Actives
The formula combines two repellent actives with different origins:
- DEET 15% — one of the most widely used insect-repellent ingredients. It interferes with the way mosquitoes and other biting insects detect human skin and scent, making it harder for them to locate you.
- Citriodiol® — a source of PMD derived from lemon eucalyptus, valued for its plant-based origin and fresh scent profile. Works in a similar way to DEET.
- Aloe vera — helps the lotion feel gentler on the skin.
Together, these actives create broad repellent action in a light, easy-to-spread lotion that absorbs cleanly and leaves no sticky residue.
Who It Suits and When to Use It
This lotion suits adults and families with older children who want a straightforward option for exposed skin before outdoor activities. It fits well into:
- A summer outing kit or hiking bag
- Fishing gear or picnic set
- A travel pouch
The combination of DEET and PMD is also useful for those who want an effective classic active together with a botanical repellent component in one product.
Important Precautions
- Avoid the eye area and mucous membranes.
- Do not apply on irritated skin.
- DEET may affect plastics, rubber, leather, and coated surfaces — keep contact with these materials in mind.
- Not suitable for children under 2 years of age.
- If your skin is very sensitive or you are applying several topical products at once, test compatibility first.

Customer Questions
The lotion contains DEET 15% and Citriodiol® (PMD), which together provide broad-spectrum repellent action. In practice, a 15% DEET formulation typically offers several hours of protection against mosquitoes under moderate conditions, while PMD contributes additional repellent activity, especially against ticks. However, actual duration varies significantly with temperature, humidity, how much you sweat, whether you swim or towel off, and local insect density.
The product is explicitly not suitable for children under 2 years of age. For children aged 2 and above, use sparingly and only on exposed skin areas that the child cannot reach to put in their mouth — avoid hands, around the eyes, and the mouth area. An adult should apply the lotion for the child; do not let children apply it themselves.
DEET is a known solvent for several materials. It can soften, cloud, or permanently damage acetate frames (eyeglasses, sunglasses), watch crystals, plastic lens coatings, synthetic fabrics like rayon, spandex, or acetate blends, rubberized grips, leather, painted or varnished surfaces, and some coated outdoor gear (tent fabrics, backpack straps, waterproof membranes). Citriodiol® does not have this effect, but the DEET 15% in this formula does.
