How long does the protection last and when should I reapply the lotion?

The lotion contains DEET 15% and Citriodiol® (PMD), which together provide broad-spectrum repellent action. In practice, a 15% DEET formulation typically offers several hours of protection against mosquitoes under moderate conditions, while PMD contributes additional repellent activity, especially against ticks. However, actual duration varies significantly with temperature, humidity, how much you sweat, whether you swim or towel off, and local insect density.

Reapply when you notice insects landing or biting again, after swimming or heavy perspiration, or after toweling the skin dry. The lotion absorbs cleanly without a sticky film, so reapplication is straightforward. Do not exceed the frequency implied by the label instructions; more frequent application does not increase efficacy and only increases skin exposure to the actives.

For extended outdoor days, carry the 50 ml tube for top-ups. Apply to all exposed skin evenly — missed spots are where bites occur. Clothing provides a physical barrier; treating cuffs, collars, and sock tops (testing fabric compatibility first) adds a perimeter layer.
