Derma Intensive+ lotion provides effective protection against mosquitoes and ticks. It is specially designed for children over 1 year old. The formula contains special active ingredients - Deet (10%) and Citriodiol, which are responsible for its effective repellent effect. It also contains aloe vera, which moisturizes and nourishes the skin. The texture does not leave a sticky film after application. Has a natural lemon eucalyptus scent.

The repellent protects for up to 6 hours after application against mosquitoes and up to 4 hours against ticks. This is an ideal protection against bites on summer days when you are outside. With it you will feel calm about your child when you are on the beach, on a walk, fishing, hiking or in the garden. The lotion is equipped with a sprayer that makes application easy and comfortable. Convenient to carry in a bag or backpack.

From what age can this lotion be used and how do I apply it safely on a toddler?

This lotion is formulated for children from 1 year of age. Apply a thin, even layer only to exposed skin areas — such as arms, legs, and neck — where bites are most likely. Do not put it on the child's hands, since toddlers frequently put fingers in their mouths, and avoid the eye area, mouth, and any cuts, rashes, or irritated skin. An adult should always do the application; do not let a young child apply it themselves. After returning indoors, wash the treated skin with soap and water. If you are using sunscreen, apply the sunscreen first, let it absorb, then apply this repellent lotion on top. Reapply the repellent only as needed and according to the label instructions; do not over-apply in an attempt to extend protection.

How long does the protection last and when should I reapply it?

The lotion contains DEET 10% and Citriodiol, which together provide several hours of protection under typical conditions. Exact duration depends on factors such as temperature, humidity, how much the child sweats, whether they go in water, and how intense the mosquito or tick activity is. The product instructions give a maximum reapplication interval — do not exceed it. As a practical rule, reapply after swimming, towelling off, or heavy perspiration, and whenever you notice insects landing or biting again. For a long day outdoors (for example, a forest hike or beach stay), plan for at least one reapplication mid-day. Avoid applying more frequently than the label allows; a thicker layer does not increase protection and may increase skin irritation risk.

My child has sensitive skin — can they use this and what should I watch for?

The formula includes aloe vera to help keep skin from feeling dry after application, which is useful in summer when sun, wind, and frequent washing already stress the skin barrier. However, the product also contains Citriodiol (derived from lemon eucalyptus), which gives a fresh herbal-citrus scent, and DEET — both of which can cause stinging or redness in children with very reactive skin. Before the first full use, apply a pea-sized amount to a small patch on the inner forearm and wait a few hours. If no itching, redness, or bumps appear, it is likely safe to use more broadly. This sequence ensures the sunscreen forms its protective film on the skin without being diluted or disrupted by the repellent. Do not rely on a combined sunscreen-repellent product, because sunscreen typically needs reapplication every two hours (or after swimming/sweating), while repellent reapplication intervals are longer. Reapplying a combined product at sunscreen frequency would overexpose the child to the repellent actives. When it is time to reapply sunscreen, wash or wipe the skin if practical, reapply sunscreen, let it absorb, then reapply the repellent only if the label interval allows it.
