Siberian Chaga Tea is a herbal tea beverage product based on chaga mushroom (Inonotus obliquus) — a sterile conk parasitic fungus that grows on birch trees (Betula spp.) in the boreal forests of Russia, Siberia, Canada, Scandinavia and northern Europe. Chaga has an extraordinarily long history of use as a traditional beverage in Russian folk medicine under the name "Chagovy Chai" (chaga tea), prepared by boiling or cold-steeping dried, crushed chaga biomass. The chaga fungus accumulates a remarkable polyphenol complex from the birch host — particularly betulin and betulinic acid derived from the birch bark — alongside its own melanin pigments, beta-glucan polysaccharides, ergosterol, inotodiol and a range of triterpenoids and phenolic compounds. Chaga tea has a characteristic deep, dark-brown colour when brewed and a mild, pleasantly earthy, slightly woody and subtly vanilla-like flavour with almost no bitterness. The tea is naturally caffeine-free and can be consumed hot or cold.

USAGE: Prepare as a hot beverage: add 1–2 teaspoons of chaga per cup. Pour boiling water over the chaga. Steep for 5–10 minutes (or longer for a stronger infusion). Strain and serve. May be re-steeped 2–3 times.
