BAD GIRL direct hair colours are ammonia-free, peroxide-free, no-PPD ready-to-use direct pigment products. The keratin complex conditions and smooths; vitamin E protects with antioxidant care; linseed oil moisturises and adds shine. BAD GIRL Phoenix Orange semi-permanent direct hair colour is a ready-to-use tinting product for anyone who wants a vivid orange hair shade without ammonia, peroxide or PPD. People usually choose this type of colour when they want a visible change, a brighter refreshed tone between salon visits, or a creative result that fades more gently than permanent dye. Phoenix gives a fiery orange effect: on very light or pre-lightened hair it looks bold and saturated, while on darker blonde or light brown hair it reads more like a warm copper-orange veil.
Its colour comes from direct pigments. This means the colour molecules sit on and just under the outer layer of the hair instead of being developed by an oxidant. In practice, that is why application is simpler and the formula can be free from ammonia and peroxide. Direct dyes are popular for fashion shades because they give immediate tone and shine, but the final intensity depends strongly on the starting base. The lighter and more even the hair, the cleaner and brighter the orange usually appears. On porous hair, the shade may grab more strongly and fade less evenly.
The formula also includes ingredients chosen to make the hair feel smoother after colouring. Keratin helps coat the hair surface, which can reduce roughness and make strands look more polished. Vitamin E acts as an antioxidant often used in hair and skin cosmetics to help protect the formula and contribute to a softer feel. Linseed oil is rich in fatty acids that help the hair feel less dry and add gloss, which matters especially with bright shades because shine makes the colour look more dimensional.
This kind of product suits people experimenting with expressive colour, reviving faded lengths, adding a copper-orange cast, or enhancing pre-lightened hair at home. It can fit into a weekly or occasional colour-maintenance regimen depending on how often you wash your hair and how intense you want the result to stay. Because semi-permanent pigments interact differently with each base, it is wise to expect some variation from the pack image.
As with any hair colouring product, do a patch test before first use and wear gloves during application. Orange pigment can stain skin, towels and porous surfaces, and bright shades may hold more strongly on bleached or damaged hair. If your hair is heavily lightened, chemically processed or uneven in porosity, a strand test first is a sensible extra step.
