BAD GIRL Fairy Queen Lavender is a semi-permanent direct hair colour for anyone who wants a cool lavender-violet tone without the harsher chemistry associated with oxidative dyes. People usually choose this type of hair tint when they want to refresh pre-lightened hair, experiment with a pastel or more vivid purple result, or add a soft lilac cast to grey or white strands. Because it is a direct dye, the colour is deposited onto the hair rather than developed inside it with ammonia or peroxide.
In practice, this means a gentler colouring experience and a result that depends strongly on the starting base. On very light blonde or bleached hair, the lavender pigments show more clearly and can look anything from airy pastel to brighter violet-lavender. On grey or white hair, the shade tends to appear as a luminous lilac veil. On darker blonde hair, it usually gives more of a cool purple reflection than a fully saturated transformation. This is why direct pigment colours are often liked by people who enjoy changing tone without committing to permanent dye.
The formula is also designed to make the hair feel better after colouring, not just look brighter. Keratin helps smooth the hair surface, which can make strands feel less rough and appear more even. Vitamin E acts as an antioxidant conditioning ingredient, helping the formula feel less drying. Linseed oil is valued in hair cosmetics for its emollient effect: it coats the hair lightly, helping with softness and shine. The absence of ammonia, peroxide and PPD may also be important for those who prefer a simpler colouring system, although sensitivity is still possible with any pigment product.
This shade fits well into a beauty regimen when you want to revive faded pastel lengths between salon visits, create a playful fashion tone for weekends or holidays, or give very light hair a cooler, more expressive twist. Semi-permanent colour is especially practical if you like visible change with gradual fading rather than a sharp regrowth line.
As with any hair colouring product, the final result can differ from the picture and from one hair type to another. Very porous hair may take colour more intensely, while darker bases show a subtler effect. It is wise to do a strand and patch test before first use, use gloves, and be extra cautious if your scalp is sensitive or your hair has been heavily processed.
