Dark Deep Red
Resilient creamy hair color by Rubella Fashion Color enhances the optical effect of hair color.
The rice protein in its formula helps retain more color pigments in the hair, making the hair color brighter and shinier. The fixing balm is enriched with a complex of vitamins and keratin, providing deep and long-lasting nourishment. Keratin is one of the key structural components of hair, helping to strengthen and straighten it, resulting in vibrant hair with intense color.
How to use:
Mix the dye with the developer and apply to the hair. Leave on for 30 minutes, then rinse thoroughly with warm water. Finish by applying the balm.
Important: Conduct an allergy/sensitivity test before use!
What this hair dye is
Rubella Beauty "RUBELLA" Fashion Hair Dye Deep Red 5.56 115 ml is a creamy permanent hair color created for people who want a rich red shade with visible shine and a more polished-looking finish. This type of product is usually chosen when the goal is not only to change the tone, but also to keep the hair looking smooth, glossy and expressive after coloring. Deep red shades can look especially striking in natural light, where the intensity and reflective effect of the pigment become more noticeable.
Key components
What makes this formula interesting is the combination of color pigments with rice protein and a post-color fixing balm enriched with keratin and vitamins.
- Rice protein — helps the hair hold onto more pigment during the coloring process. That can make the shade look fuller, brighter and more even from root to length. It also helps the surface of the hair feel less rough, which matters because smoother hair reflects light better and the color appears more luminous. This is one reason people often look for protein-enriched hair dye rather than basic color alone.
- Keratin (in the fixing balm) — keratin is a protein naturally present in hair and is known as one of its main building materials. In hair cosmetics, keratin is used to help coat and condition the hair shaft, so strands feel more aligned and look sleeker after coloring.
- Vitamins — paired with keratin in the balm, they help the hair feel softer and less dry-looking, which is especially useful after an oxidative color service.
The result is not just a new shade, but hair that looks smoother, more vibrant and better finished overall.
When people choose it
- Refreshing faded lengths
- Trying a bold warm tone for a style change
- Maintaining an intense red look between salon visits
A creamy texture is often appreciated because it spreads more evenly through the hair and is easier to distribute without dripping too much. If your priority is expressive color with shine, plus conditioning elements that help the hair look less stressed after coloring, this kind of formula fits that scenario well.
Important notes
As with any permanent hair color, it is wise to use it thoughtfully.
- Red pigments can appear differently depending on your starting shade and previous coloring history, and damaged or highly porous hair may absorb color unevenly.
- Always do the recommended allergy test before use.
- Take extra caution if your scalp is sensitive or if you have recently used other strong chemical hair treatments.

Customer Questions
Shade 5.56 is a deep red permanent color, which means it lifts and deposits pigment simultaneously. On natural hair levels 5–7 (light brown to dark blonde), you will typically see a rich, true deep red with visible shine. On darker bases (level 3–4), the red will appear more subtle — a warm, reddish tint visible mainly in sunlight rather than a vivid fire-engine red. If your hair is already colored, the existing pigment influences the outcome: previously lightened hair (level 8+) may turn brighter and more intense, sometimes leaning coppery, while hair with old dark dye may resist lifting, giving a darker, cooler red. Damaged or highly porous sections absorb pigment faster and can look darker or uneven — consider a porosity equalizer or applying to those areas last. Always do a strand test on a hidden section first; 20 minutes of processing will show you the realistic result before you commit to the full head.
Rice protein is a film-forming, hydrolyzed protein that penetrates the cuticle layers during the oxidative process. While the ammonia and peroxide open the cuticle to let color molecules enter, the protein molecules deposit along the hair shaft and partially fill microscopic gaps in the cuticle. This has two practical effects: first, it creates a more uniform surface, so pigment distributes evenly from root to tip instead of clustering in porous spots — the result is a cleaner, more saturated red without blotchy darker patches. Second, the protein film reduces friction between strands, so hair feels less rough and straw-like immediately after rinsing. Smoother cuticles also reflect light better, which amplifies the glossy finish that deep red shades rely on for depth. The effect is cosmetic and temporary — it washes out over several shampoos — but it bridges the gap until the post-color balm takes over.
The fixing balm is a separate sachet or tube included in the box. After you have rinsed the color until the water runs clear, squeeze excess water from your hair (do not shampoo yet). Distribute the balm evenly from mid-lengths to ends — these areas are oldest and most porous, so they benefit most from the keratin film. Leave it on for 3–5 minutes; the cationic surfactants in the balm neutralize residual alkalinity from the dye, helping the cuticle scales lie flat. Keratin, a fibrous protein naturally found in hair, adsorbs onto the surface and temporarily reinforces the cuticle structure, while the added vitamins (typically panthenol and vitamin E derivatives) add slip and reduce oxidative stress markers on the fiber. Rinse thoroughly with cool water. You can shampoo gently the next day if needed, but skipping shampoo for 24–48 hours lets the color molecules fully oxidize and stabilize, improving longevity.
Even if you have colored your hair before, sensitization can develop at any time. Open the color cream and developer bottles. Using a non-metallic teaspoon, mix approximately 1 cm of color cream with an equal amount of developer in a small plastic dish. With a cotton bud, apply a pea-sized drop to a clean, discreet area — the skin behind the ear or the inner forearm works well. Let it dry and leave it uncovered for 48 hours. Do not wash, cover, or apply other products on that spot. Watch for redness, itching, swelling, burning, or blistering. If any of these appear, rinse immediately with plenty of water and do not use the product. If the test area stays calm, you can proceed with the full application. Note: this test only screens for contact allergy to the dye intermediates (such as PPD or PTD); it does not guarantee you will not experience scalp irritation from the alkaline developer. If you have a known sensitivity to oxidative dyes, a history of severe reactions, or a scalp condition like eczema or psoriasis, consult a dermatologist before coloring.
