BAD GIRL Blue Devil is a semi-permanent cosmetic hair colour product in shade Blue — an intense, mesmerising deep-blue shade for those who appreciate that perfection is in the details and believe in making a lasting impression. BAD GIRL direct hair colours are ammonia-free, peroxide-free, no-PPD ready-to-use direct pigment products that deposit vivid colour onto the hair cuticle without any oxidative chemistry. The Blue Devil shade provides a rich, saturated blue tone: on pre-lightened or very light blonde hair, it delivers a vivid electric-blue result; on grey/white hair, a full-coverage bright blue; on medium-light hair, a deep blue-toned overlay. The formula contains a keratin complex for hair smoothing and conditioning, vitamin E for antioxidant support, and linseed oil for moisturising and shine. Lasts up to 100 days / over 10 washes; colour is vibrant after hot water washing; does not transfer onto clothing or bedding once dry. 150 ml applicator bottle.

What it is
Bad Girl Blue Devil Blue is a semi-permanent direct hair colour for anyone who wants a bold blue shade without the harsher chemistry of oxidative dyes. This type of hair tint is usually chosen by people who like vivid fashion colours, want to refresh pre-lightened hair, or prefer to experiment without committing to permanent colour. The pigment sits on and around the outer layer of the hair rather than changing the hair’s natural melanin from within, so the result depends strongly on the starting base: very light or bleached hair gives the brightest electric blue, while darker blondes tend to show a deeper, cooler blue veil.
How the formula works
What makes this formula interesting is its ready-to-use, ammonia-free, peroxide-free and PPD-free approach. Without ammonia or peroxide, the product does not rely on oxidation to develop colour. Instead, direct blue pigments deposit immediately onto the hair surface, which is why shades like this can look especially saturated on porous or pre-lightened lengths. This also means the colour gradually fades with washing rather than leaving a sharp regrowth line. For people who enjoy changing tone from time to time, that softer fade-out is often one of the main advantages of a semi-permanent dye.
Conditioning ingredients
Beyond colour, Bad Girl has added conditioning ingredients that help the hair feel smoother after tinting:
- Keratin — a hair-identical protein commonly used in cosmetic formulas to coat roughened areas and improve the feel of the strand, especially on processed hair.
- Vitamin E — acts as an antioxidant ingredient in the formula.
- Linseed oil — helps soften the hair and add shine, so the blue tone looks glossier rather than flat.
This combination makes the product particularly suitable for bleached, porous or dull-looking hair that needs colour with a less aggressive profile.
When people choose it
This 150 ml hair colouring product fits well into scenarios such as:
- Refreshing faded blue lengths.
- Adding a statement tone before an event.
- Giving grey or white hair a creative full-blue effect.
- Working as a blue overlay on light brown to dark blonde bases, though the result will be moodier and less vivid.
Because direct dyes interact differently with each hair type, porosity and previous colouring history matter as much as the shade in the bottle.
Important notes
- Do a patch test before first use, as with any vivid hair tint.
- Use gloves, as blue pigments can temporarily stain skin and some surfaces during application.
- If your hair is highly porous, freshly bleached, or chemically stressed, test on a small section first to see how intensely the colour takes and how it fades.

Customer Questions
Because this is a direct dye without peroxide or ammonia, it does not lift your natural pigment. On hair that has been pre-lightened to a pale yellow (level 9–10), the pigment deposits intensely and gives a vivid, electric blue. On light to medium blonde (level 7–8) you will see a noticeable but deeper, cooler blue veil — think midnight or denim rather than neon. On dark blonde or light brown the effect is a subtle blue tint visible mainly in bright light; on medium to dark brown or black hair the change is barely perceptible. Previous colour history matters too: porous, previously coloured ends grab more pigment than virgin roots, so the result can be uneven along the length. If you are unsure, test on a hidden strand first.
Semi-permanent direct dyes sit on and around the cuticle rather than inside the cortex, so every wash removes some pigment. On highly porous, freshly bleached hair the initial saturation is strongest but it also rinses out faster — often noticeable fading after 3–5 washes. On less porous or only lightly lightened hair the colour may remain visible for 10–12 washes. Sulphate shampoos, hot water, and frequent washing accelerate fade; cool water, sulphate-free cleansers, and washing less often extend it. As the blue fades on a yellow-blonde base it can pass through teal or greenish stages before returning to the underlying blonde. There is no sharp root line because the product does not alter new growth.
The formula contains concentrated direct blue pigments that are designed to adhere to keratin. During application they will stain anything they touch: skin, nails, countertops, tile grout, shower curtains, and towels. Before starting, put on the gloves provided (or nitrile gloves), drape an old towel over your shoulders, and smear a thin layer of petroleum jelly or barrier cream along the forehead, ears, and neck to catch drips. Work in a well-ventilated room with a wipe-clean surface. If product splashes on skin, wipe it off immediately with an oil-based cleanser or micellar water — once it sets, it can take several days to wear off. Rinse the shower or sink with warm water and a non-abrasive cleaner right after rinsing your hair to prevent permanent blue marks on porous surfaces.
The formula is ammonia-free, peroxide-free, and PPD-free, so it does not further oxidise or swell the hair shaft. Added keratin coats roughened cuticle areas, vitamin E acts as an antioxidant in the mixture, and linseed oil adds slip and shine, which together make the tint feel more like a conditioning treatment than a harsh dye. However, highly porous or chemically stressed hair (e.g., recently bleached, over-processed, or heat-damaged) can grab pigment intensely at the ends while the mid-lengths stay lighter, leading to a patchy result. It also releases colour more quickly with each wash. The manufacturer advises doing a strand test on a small, hidden section first: apply, process for the full time, rinse, and evaluate both the shade and how the hair feels. If the test strand feels gummy or the colour is alarmingly dark, dilute the product with a white conditioner (1:1) for the full application.
