White willow (Salix alba) bark is one of the oldest and most thoroughly studied medicinal plants in European, Asian and Slavic folk medicine, with a continuous documented history of use spanning over 2,500 years. The bark contains a rich complex of phenolic compounds, including salicin (the natural phenolic glycoside from which acetylsalicylic acid was originally derived), tannins (principally salicortine and tremulacin), flavonoids, catechins and phenolic acids.

INGREDIENTS: Dried white willow (Salix alba) bark.
USE: Traditional decoction: add 1–2 teaspoons (approximately 3–5 g) of dried bark to 250 ml of cold water; bring to the boil and simmer for 10 minutes; leave to stand for 20 minutes; strain and drink warm. Alternatively, prepare as a cold infusion as directed on the packaging.
