Argan oil (Argania spinosa), also known as "Liquid Gold", is extracted by cold-pressing the kernels of the argan tree fruit, native to south-western Morocco; it provides a unique composition of oleic acid (~46%), linoleic acid (~33%), squalene (~1%), vitamin E (alpha-tocopherol, delta-tocopherol, gamma-tocopherol), sterols (schottenol, spinasterol) and carotenes. Vitamin E in argan oil is an exceptional lipid-soluble antioxidant that protects the hair and scalp from oxidative damage caused by UV radiation, heat styling and environmental pollutants. The balanced oleic/linoleic fatty acid profile of argan oil provides deep nourishment and conditioning of the hair cortex, as the unsaturated fatty acids penetrate the hair shaft and fill cortex lipid gaps. The shampoo maintains the moisture level of the hair shaft, protects colour-treated hair, adds vitality and lustre, and makes hair easy to comb and style.
