The Doctor Health & Care Shampoo "Keratin + Arginine + Biotin — Maximum Energy" is a professional cosmetic hair care shampoo from The Doctor H&C range, formulated with a triple-active complex of hydrolysed keratin, arginine (amino acid) and biotin (vitamin B7) for intensive nourishing and strengthening of weakened hair. Hydrolysed keratin is a protein hydrolysate derived from keratin — the primary structural protein of human hair — obtained by enzymatic or chemical hydrolysis of the native protein into smaller keratin peptides; these peptides can penetrate into the cortex of the hair shaft and temporarily fill cracks and gaps in the damaged keratin matrix, smoothing the cuticle and improving shine and strength. Arginine is a basic amino acid that forms part of the hair's natural amino acid building blocks and contributes to the hair shaft's structural integrity. Biotin (vitamin B7) is included in the formula as a B-vitamin associated with normal hair structure. The formula also contains panthenol (provitamin B5), witch hazel water (Hamamelis virginiana), arnica flower water (Arnica montana), niacinamide (vitamin B3), thiamine (vitamin B1), vitamins E and A, and sunflower and peanut oils. The large 946 ml format provides professional-scale supply for daily use.

If your hair has been coloured, bleached, permed, or regularly heat-styled, the cuticle layer is likely lifted and porous, which makes strands catch on each other and lose shine. This shampoo addresses that by depositing hydrolysed keratin fragments onto damaged areas, smoothing the surface so light reflects more evenly and combing resistance drops.
Wet hair thoroughly, then dispense an amount proportional to hair length and density — roughly a 10-cent coin for short hair, a 20-cent coin for shoulder-length, and more for long or thick hair. Focus the shampoo on the scalp and root area where sebum and product residue accumulate; the foam that runs down during rinsing is enough to cleanse the lengths without stripping them.
Hydrolysed keratin is keratin broken into low-molecular-weight fragments. Because the molecules are small, they can adhere to the uneven, lifted cuticle scales of damaged hair, filling microscopic gaps and cracks. This physical deposition makes the hair surface smoother, reduces inter-fibre friction (so strands slide past each other instead of tangling), and increases light reflection — which you perceive as shine. It does not penetrate the cortex or permanently rebuild the hair shaft; the effect is cosmetic and washes out over subsequent cleanses, which is why regular use maintains the benefit.
Two ingredient groups in this formula warrant attention if you have known sensitivities. First, the product contains peanut oil (listed alongside sunflower oil as a softening agent). If you have a peanut or tree nut allergy, avoid this shampoo — even though it is rinsed off, residual contact on the scalp, face, neck, or hands during washing can trigger a reaction in highly sensitive individuals.
