Senna-D Tablets are a natural food supplement providing senna leaf (Cassia senna / Cassia acutifolia) combined with elecampane (Inula helenium) root powder. Senna leaf is a well-established botanical known for its anthraquinone glycoside (anthraglycoside) content — specifically sennosides A and B — which are the primary active compounds responsible for the pronounced laxative action. Sennosides act by irritating the receptors of the intestinal mucosa, reducing fluid reabsorption and increasing peristalsis of the large intestine. Elecampane root and rhizome powder is added to complement the formula; it is a traditional European botanical from the Asteraceae family containing inulin, essential oils and bitters. Each tablet provides 500 mg of the combined herbal formula.
