Because there is no bleaching step, the colour cannot lighten your hair; it only adds a warmer, reddish nuance. The effect is generally softer and more individual, since the final shade depends on your starting colour, porosity, and any previous chemical treatments. Many users also notice that the herbal powders leave hair feeling fuller and smoother after rinsing.
Herbal colour behaves unpredictably on very light, heavily bleached, or recently dyed hair.
