Pour 2 filter bags into 200 ml (1 glass) of hot boiled water and heat in a water bath for 15 minutes with frequent stirring. Cool at room temperature, then strain. Squeeze out the filter bags, bring the volume of the resulting infusion with boiled water to 200 ml. Take 1/2 cup at night.

This fundamentally distinguishes it from bulk-forming laxatives (psyllium, flaxseed), which increase the volume of the stool and work more gently, or from osmotic ones (lactulose), which hold water in the intestine.
