A few groups should approach this product with some care:
- Sensitivity to conifers and resins: the jam is made from pine cones, which naturally contain plant resins and aromatic compounds. If you know you react to conifer ingredients, pine pollen or strongly aromatic plant products, start with a very small portion and see how you tolerate it — or avoid it altogether if you have a diagnosed allergy.
- Sugar intake: like any sweet preserve, it is high in sugar and best enjoyed in moderation. If you limit sugar for any reason, treat it as an occasional accent rather than a daily staple.
- Children: pine cone jam is a traditional food product, but its resinous flavour and sugar content mean small portions are sensible for children; many kids also simply find the taste unfamiliar, so let them try a little of the syrup first.
Consult a specialist before regular use if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, have chronic conditions or take medication. This is a food product, not a remedy — it is not intended to diagnose, treat or prevent any disease, and it is not a substitute for a balanced diet.
