People usually choose this type of balm-like product when the skin feels tight after wind, water, household chores or sun, or when certain spots such as hands, elbows, heels or lips become flaky and uncomfortable.
How the formula works
The formula works mainly in two ways. First, a dense base with oils, waxes and occlusive ingredients helps reduce moisture loss from the skin surface. In plain language, it forms a light barrier that shields weakened areas from further drying and gives the skin time to recover.
Key components
- Coconut oil and lanolin — help soften coarse patches.
- Beeswax — adds a more protective texture.
- Zinc oxide — often used in products for fragile or irritated skin because it sits on the surface and helps calm friction-prone areas.
- Sea buckthorn oil — valued in skin care for its naturally occurring carotenoids and fatty acids, which are often used in products for dry, weather-stressed skin.
- Essential oils and more — tea tree, eucalyptus, thyme, juniper, sandalwood and ginger, plus menthol and camphor, giving the cream its characteristic herbal aroma and a cooling-warming skin feel that many people associate with targeted local application.
