How safe is the formula for sensitive skin, and what should you look out for? — Cream "Universal Care", 30 ml - Home Doctor

Most of the cream's ingredients — coconut oil, lanolin, petroleum jelly, paraffin and beeswax — are well studied and widely used in cosmetics as emollients and protective agents. However, a few components need attention if your skin is prone to reactions:

  • Essential oils (eucalyptus, tea tree, thyme, juniper, sandalwood, vetiver, ginger) are biologically active substances that in some people can cause contact irritation or an allergic reaction, especially when applied to thin or damaged skin.
  • Menthol and camphor have a cooling effect, but on sensitive skin they can cause burning or make irritation worse. Camphor is also not recommended for application to large areas in children.
  • Lanolin is an ingredient of animal origin to which some people have an individual intolerance.

Before the first use, it is recommended to do a test: apply a small amount of the cream to the crook of the elbow or the wrist and wait 24 hours. If redness, itching or burning appears, it is better not to use it.

Do not apply the cream to the area around the eyes, to mucous membranes or to open skin lesions. If you have a chronic skin condition, are pregnant or breastfeeding, it is worth consulting a specialist before use.
