The cream's base — coconut oil, lanolin, petroleum jelly, paraffin and beeswax — forms a dense protective layer on the skin that retains moisture well. For very dry areas of the face (the corners of the mouth, the sides of the nose, rough patches), this texture works well: it softens the skin and reduces moisture loss where the skin dries out quickly.
If, however, your facial skin is generally prone to oiliness or clogged pores, the cream should not be applied to large areas. Dense occlusive ingredients can increase the feeling of heaviness and create conditions in which the pores ‘breathe’ less well. The best option is to apply it only to specific problem areas.
The essential oils in the formula also deserve attention: eucalyptus, tea tree, thyme, juniper, menthol and camphor have a pronounced cooling and refreshing effect. For reactive or sensitive facial skin, these ingredients may prove too active. Before the first use, it is recommended to apply a small amount of the cream to an inconspicuous area and wait a few hours.
The area around the eyes should be avoided completely: the mucous membranes are sensitive to essential oils and camphor, and contact with them is undesirable.
