Do I need a conditioner after using this shampoo?

This shampoo contains wheat proteins, which can help the hair surface feel smoother and more resilient, but it is still a cleansing product. Shampoo is used mainly on the scalp and roots to remove oil, sweat, styling residue and everyday build-up. If your lengths are dry, bleached, coloured, porous or prone to knots, a separate conditioner or balm after shampooing will usually give better slip and make combing safer.

A practical way to use it is to massage the shampoo into the wet scalp, let the foam run through the lengths while rinsing, and avoid piling long hair on top of the head. That reduces friction and tangling. If your hair is very oily at the roots, you may wash the scalp more thoroughly while keeping conditioner only on the mid-lengths and ends. If your hair is fine and easily weighed down, use a small amount of conditioner and rinse well rather than skipping it completely if the ends feel rough.

The shampoo is especially relevant for people who want clean roots but do not want an oil-heavy treatment. Its conditioning effect is mainly on the hair surface, so the most realistic benefits are improved softness, smoother feel, better manageability and less snapping during combing. For hair that has been chemically treated or regularly styled with heat, pairing it with a suitable conditioner, gentle detangling and reduced heat exposure will usually matter more than shampoo choice alone.
