Lekraset Elderflower (Sambucus nigra L.) 25g is a dried herbal supplement of elderflower from the black elder plant (Sambucus nigra L., family Adoxaceae / Caprifoliaceae) — one of the most iconic, traditionally significant and widely recognised medicinal and culinary plants of Northern and Central European botanical heritage. The elder tree (Sambucus nigra) grows widely across Europe, Western Asia and North America as a shrub or small tree at forest margins, roadsides and hedgerows. The flowers are harvested in late spring/early summer when they open into large, flat-topped clusters of tiny, creamy-white, intensely sweet and distinctively fragrant blossoms with a warm, honey-like, slightly musky floral aroma. Elderflowers contain flavonoids (rutin, quercetin glycosides, kaempferol), triterpenes (alpha-amyrin, beta-amyrin, ursolic acid), phenolic acids, essential oils and mucilaginous polysaccharides. Used to prepare a herbal infusion (tea) as a food supplement. Not a medicinal product.

USE: Add 1 tablespoon of dried elderflowers to a glass of boiling water. Simmer on low heat for 30 minutes. Cool for 10 minutes and strain. Adults: recommended serving 1/4 glass (approximately 50 ml) 3–4 times per day at mealtimes, preferably 15 minutes before meals.
