Sustavit Capsaicin with Mumio Balm-Blocker is a cosmetic body balm from the Neogalen "Health without Overpaying" range, formulated with a high-concentration (10%) capsaicin extract as the primary warming active ingredient, combined with mumio (shilajit) and a blend of complementary botanical actives. Capsaicin (Capsicum annuum extract) is one of the most extensively studied topical warming agents in cosmetics — an alkaloid from chilli pepper that, when applied to the skin surface, binds to TRPV1 receptors to produce an intense, long-lasting sensation of localised heat. At 10% concentration, the warming effect is pronounced. Mumio (shilajit) contributes its complex organic-mineral composition. The formula additionally contains camphor (additional warming sensation), clove essential oil (Eugenia caryophyllus), eucalyptus essential oil (Eucalyptus globulus) and sea buckthorn oil (Hippophae rhamnoides). Beeswax contributes to the formula consistency and creates a protective layer that helps to sustain the warming effect on the skin.

USE: Apply a small amount to the target area of skin. Massage in circular movements for 3–5 minutes until fully absorbed. Wash hands immediately after application — do not touch eyes or face before thorough handwashing. Use 2–3 times per day as required.
WARNINGS: HIGH-CONCENTRATION CAPSAICIN (10%) — produces intense warming/burning sensation. Do not apply to face, eyes, mucous membranes, broken, damaged or irritated skin. Wash hands immediately and thoroughly after use. Do not cover application area with tight bandages. Avoid contact with eyes — if eye contact occurs, rinse immediately with water and seek medical attention if irritation persists. Contains beeswax — do not use if allergic to bee products. Test on a small area of skin before first use. In case of severe burning or skin reaction, remove the product with soap and water. Keep out of reach of children. Not a medicinal product.

For your first application, it is essential to use a very small, pea-sized amount on a limited area of skin to gauge your personal sensitivity. The warming sensation often has a delayed onset; it may take 10 to 20 minutes before you feel the full effect, so do not apply more if you do not feel heat immediately.
While capsaicin and camphor provide the primary warming sensation, the base of the balm is formulated to manage how that heat is delivered and how the skin reacts to it. Beeswax serves a structural purpose by creating a thin, breathable film on the skin's surface. This film helps to "lock in" the warming actives, preventing them from evaporating or rubbing off too quickly on clothing. This allows the heat to feel more sustained and deep-seated rather than a sharp, fleeting spike of temperature.
The intensity of the warming sensation is highly dependent on your skin's current state and the environment. You should strictly avoid applying the balm immediately after a hot shower or bath. Hot water opens the pores and increases local blood circulation, which can cause the 10% capsaicin to feel painfully hot rather than soothingly warm. For the same reason, do not use heating pads, infrared lamps, or tight occlusive bandages over the area where the balm has been applied.
