'Without added sugar' means no table sugar, syrups, honey or similar sweeteners are added during production. It does not automatically mean the finished bar contains zero sugar.
This bar is designed to be flexible rather than tied to one specific moment. Its whey protein concentrate is absorbed relatively quickly, which is why it is often used after exercise as a convenient way to add protein. The milk protein concentrate includes slower-digesting fractions, so the bar can also help you feel satisfied between meals when you do not have time for something more substantial.
The main difference is the ingredient base. A typical almond chocolate bar is mostly sugar and fat, with little protein and almost no fibre. This bar is built around whey protein concentrate and milk protein concentrate, so it provides a much higher protein content per serving. Protein also contributes to the maintenance of muscle mass, which is not something a conventional candy bar can claim.
This bar is not suitable for everyone. The product information notes that people sensitive to milk proteins, soy or nuts should check the ingredient and allergen information carefully before use.
