This cream is positioned as a versatile face and body moisturizer for moments when skin feels dry, rough, or temporarily tight after washing, wind, or cold weather. You can use it anywhere you notice that kind of surface dryness, but the formula is especially practical for hands and cuticles, cheeks and other areas exposed to frequent washing, and larger dry zones where you prefer one multipurpose moisturizer over several separate products.
For a simple routine, use the cream after cleansing or washing, on skin that still feels damp but is no longer dripping. A pea-sized amount is enough for the face; for hands or body, use more and spread it evenly. Massage gently until most of the product has absorbed. The formula is intended for moisture retention and surface softness, so it works well as the moisturizing step after a cleanser, after hand washing, or after a bath or shower.
The formula works at skin level in two complementary ways: it attracts moisture into the upper layers, then reduces water loss by laying a protective film over the surface. Glycerin is the main water-attracting ingredient; mineral oil, petrolatum and shea butter are the occlusive ingredients that help keep that moisture from evaporating too quickly. Grape seed oil and vitamin E add a lighter finish and support the way the skin surface feels.
Because the formula contains fragrance, people with very reactive or easily irritated skin should not assume it will be safe for them.
