Alteja Green Tea with Oregano and St. John's Wort is a flavoured green tea blend from the Alteja range, combining a smooth Chinese green tea base with two traditional European wild herbs — oregano (Origanum vulgare, "marjoram herb") and St. John's Wort (Hypericum perforatum). Chinese green tea (minimally oxidised) provides a fresh, grassy base with caffeine and EGCG catechins. Oregano (Origanum vulgare) is a Mediterranean-Eurasian aromatic herb of the Lamiaceae family, whose essential oil is rich in thymol and carvacrol; the dried herb provides a characteristic warm, earthy-herbal aroma and a complex profile of flavonoids, rosmarinic acid and tannins. St. John's Wort (Hypericum perforatum) is a well-known wild herbaceous plant of European meadows and roadsides, with a distinctive yellow flower that produces the characteristic red-purple hypericin pigment; the herb contains naphthodianthrones (hypericin, pseudohypericin), flavonoids (rutin, quercetin, hyperoside) and hyperforin. The blend provides a pleasant herbal-aromatic character with the freshness of green tea. 80 g. Contains caffeine.

Alteja Green Tea with Oregano and St. John’s Wort is a flavoured herbal green tea blend for people who want more depth than plain green tea offers. The Chinese green tea base brings a light grassy taste and gentle caffeine lift, while oregano adds a warm, aromatic note and St. John’s Wort contributes a slightly bitter, meadow-herb character. This kind of tea is often chosen for a calm tea break when you want something more expressive than classic green tea, but still not heavy.
The green tea in this blend is minimally oxidised, which helps preserve its catechins, including EGCG. These plant compounds are valued in green tea for their antioxidant role, while the natural caffeine gives a more alert, focused feel than an ordinary herbal infusion. Oregano is known not only as a culinary herb, but also as a traditional European plant rich in fragrant compounds such as thymol and carvacrol in its essential oil, plus polyphenols naturally present in the dried herb. In tea, this gives a fuller aroma and a pleasantly savoury-herbal edge. St. John’s Wort has a long history of use in European herbal traditions; in this blend it mainly shapes the flavour profile with its slightly resinous, wild-herb note.
What makes this loose tea interesting is the balance between a classic tea leaf base and two familiar wild herbs. It can suit someone who enjoys green tea but wants a more botanical cup for a slow morning, an afternoon pause, or a lighter alternative to strongly roasted teas and sweet drinks. Because it is a loose blend, the leaves and herbs have room to open during brewing, which usually gives a more nuanced aroma than fine tea dust in bags.
Please note one important point: this product contains caffeine and also contains St. John’s Wort, a herb known for major interactions with many medicines. If you use oral contraceptives, antidepressants, blood thinners, immunosuppressants, antiviral medicines, or any regular prescription treatment, speak with a healthcare professional before drinking this tea. It is also wise to avoid combining it with several other herbal products without advice.
