Tsarsky Chai Ivan Chai "Taiga" is a premium Siberian herbal tea blend from the Taiga Storeroom / Tsarsky Chai (Tsar's Tea) range, combining three classic Siberian taiga botanicals: fermented fireweed leaves (Epilobium angustifolium, Ivan Chai), pine buds (Pinus sylvestris) and spruce needles (Picea abies). Fermented Ivan Chai provides the aromatic, earthy base — a naturally caffeine-free herbal infusion made from Epilobium angustifolium (willowherb/rosebay willowherb) leaves that have been processed through traditional Koporye fermentation (wilting, rolling, oxidation and drying), developing a rich, honey-like and slightly woody flavour with a deep amber liquor. Ivan Chai has been traditionally consumed in Russia and Siberia for centuries as a warming, calming infusion with a botanical profile that includes tannins, polyphenols, flavonoids (kaempferol, quercetin) and chlorogenic acid. Pine buds (Pinus sylvestris) provide a resinous, fresh forest aroma from alpha-pinene, beta-pinene and other terpenes, adding a distinctive, clean Siberian taiga character to the blend. Spruce needles (Picea abies) contribute vitamin C (ascorbic acid), carotenoids and a fresh, coniferous green aroma. PREPARATION: Add 2–3 teaspoons (approx. 4–6 g) to a teapot. Pour 500 ml of boiling water. Steep for 5–7 minutes. Allow to cool slightly before drinking.

The blend and its components
- Fermented fireweed leaves — the base of the blend. Fermentation does not mean the tea becomes alcoholic; it is a traditional process of wilting, rolling and controlled oxidation that softens the grassy edge of the plant and brings out a fuller, amber-coloured infusion with woody, slightly honey-like notes. Fireweed has a long history in Russian and Siberian tea culture, especially in the form known as Koporye tea or Ivan Chai. It naturally contains plant compounds such as polyphenols, tannins and flavonoids, which are valued in herbal infusions for their rich botanical profile and gently astringent finish.
- Pine buds — rich in aromatic terpenes such as alpha-pinene and beta-pinene, which create the clean, resinous scent many people associate with a conifer forest.
