Domashny Doktor (Home Doctor) Cream-Balsam with Birch Tar is a cosmetic topical cream-balsam from the Domashny Doktor range, formulated with birch tar (Betula pendula tar) and sophora extract (Styphnolobium japonicum) for the cosmetic care of problematic, oily and irritated skin. Birch tar is produced by the dry distillation of birch bark and wood, yielding a dark, aromatic tar rich in phenolic compounds including guaiacol, cresol, dimethyl phenols and creosol, as well as hydrocarbon fractions. In traditional cosmetic use across Russia and Eastern Europe, birch tar has been used for centuries in skin care formulations due to its distinctive astringent, soothing and skin-conditioning properties when applied topically in diluted cosmetic preparations. The cream-balsam formula provides a soothing cosmetic effect on the skin surface, contributes to reducing the appearance of redness and irritation, and helps restore a healthy-looking appearance to the skin. Sophora extract (Styphnolobium japonicum, Japanese pagoda tree) provides rutin (quercetin-3-O-rutinoside) and other flavonoids, contributing antioxidant and soothing properties to the formula. The cream-balsam is also suitable for scalp application as part of cosmetic scalp and hair care routines. 42 ml.

Home Doctor "DOMAŠNIJ DOKTOR" Kehakreem-palsam kasetõrv 42 ml is a cosmetic cream-balsam with birch tar and sophora extract, created for oily, easily irritated and visibly unbalanced skin. People usually choose this type of product when they want a richer topical formula for areas that look red, rough or prone to excess shine. It can be used on the face, body or scalp, depending on where the skin needs extra attention.
The main active, birch tar, has a long history in Eastern European skin applications. It is obtained from birch bark through dry distillation and is valued in cosmetics for its strong-smelling, resin-like character and its effect on the skin surface. In simple terms, birch tar helps create a more balanced-looking appearance: it has an astringent feel, may make oily areas seem less heavy, and can calm skin that reacts to external factors. This is why tar-based creams are often chosen for skin that does not feel settled.
Sophora extract adds flavonoids, including rutin, which are known for antioxidant and soothing properties. In a cream-balsam, this combination is interesting because birch tar brings the traditional skin-conditioning element, while sophora helps soften the formula’s overall effect on stressed-looking skin. The texture also matters: a balsam-cream tends to stay on the surface a little longer than a light lotion, which makes it practical for small target areas, flaky patches or scalp zones.
This product may suit adults who want occasional topical help for skin that looks oily, uneven or easily irritated by weather, friction or styling products. Some use it on small areas of the face, others on the body or along the scalp line when the skin there feels unsettled. The characteristic tar smell is normal and comes from the active itself, not from added perfume.
As with many tar-based cosmetics, it is best to start with a small amount and see how your skin responds. Avoid the eye area, mucous membranes and open skin, and stop use if irritation or allergy appears. If your skin is very reactive, or if you are unsure whether a tar cosmetic fits your regimen, ask a pharmacist or skin specialist before use.
