PÄÄSTERÕNGAS Tõrvapalsam 45 g is a tar balm for very dry, rough and flaky body skin. People usually choose this type of product when the skin surface feels thickened, uneven or prone to scaling, and a regular body cream is not rich enough. The balm texture forms a protective layer on the skin, which helps reduce moisture loss and softens hardened areas.
Its effect comes from a combination of occlusive and active ingredients. Petrolatum, lanolin and castor oil create a dense film that helps keep water in the upper layers of the skin. Tar oil and sodium shale oil sulfonate are traditional ingredients used in products for demanding skin: they are valued for helping calm the look of rough, problem-prone areas and for making the skin feel less tight. Salicylic acid works as a keratolytic component, meaning it helps loosen and lift built-up dead skin cells so the surface gradually feels smoother.
