FARMGRUPP Calendula Flowers are dried flowers of Calendula officinalis (pot marigold), harvested at full bloom and carefully dried to preserve their characteristic bright orange-yellow colour, aromatic essential oil content, and naturally occurring phytochemicals. Calendula officinalis is one of the most widely used and well-studied herbal plants in European traditional medicine and modern phytotherapy, with a continuous history of use spanning several centuries in both internal preparations (teas and infusions) and topical applications.
The dried flower heads contain a range of bioactive constituents including triterpenoid saponins (principally oleanolic acid glycosides), flavonoids (isorhamnetin, quercetin, and their glycosides), carotenoids (including beta-carotene and lutein, responsible for the characteristic orange pigmentation), polysaccharides, and a small amount of essential oil.
