Bamboo & Macadamia Shampoo is a cosmetic hair care shampoo formulated with organic bamboo extract (Bambusa vulgaris) and macadamia nut oil (Macadamia integrifolia) as the two principal active ingredients. Bamboo extract is rich in silica (silicon dioxide) in an organic, bioavailable form — bamboo stem contains up to 70% silica in its dry weight — and provides a structural keratin-strengthening effect on the hair shaft; organic bamboo silica supports the normal silica content of keratin-rich structures, contributing to hair strength, vitality and resistance to breakage. Macadamia nut oil provides a sebum-compatible emollient profile (high palmitoleic acid, omega-7) that deeply nourishes the hair without heaviness. The formula effectively cleanses the scalp, thoroughly washes the hair and restores its natural beauty and vitality. The formula is sulphate-free (no SLS/SLES) and sodium chloride-free, providing a gentle cleanse suitable for daily use and for all hair types. 200 ml.

Customer Questions
How does a sulphate-free shampoo like this one feel different when washing compared to regular shampoos?
Sulphate-free shampoos use milder surfactants that remove dirt and excess sebum without aggressively lifting the hair's natural lipid layer. You will notice less foam — especially in the first wash if you use styling products or have oily roots — but the cleansing is still effective. Because the formula also omits sodium chloride (salt), which is often added to thicken sulphate shampoos, there is no added drying effect from salt buildup on the hair shaft. The result after rinsing is usually a cleaner scalp with lengths that feel more supple rather than rough or tangled. If you are used to a "squeaky clean" sensation, it may take a few washes to adjust; that squeak often signals that the protective lipid film has been removed. With this shampoo, the macadamia oil helps replenish surface lipids during the wash itself, so hair tends to comb more easily when wet. For best results, apply to thoroughly wet hair, massage the scalp for 30–60 seconds, then rinse well. A second, lighter application can be useful if you wash infrequently or use heavy styling products.
Is this shampoo suitable for coloured or chemically treated hair?
Colour-treated and chemically processed hair (highlights, keratin treatments, perms) has a more porous cuticle that loses moisture and pigment faster when washed with harsh surfactants. Sulphate-free formulas are widely recommended by colourists because they cleanse without aggressively stripping artificial pigment or the lipid barrier that keeps processed hair flexible. The macadamia oil in this formula is particularly relevant here: its fatty acid profile, rich in palmitoleic and oleic acids, mimics the skin's own sebum and penetrates the hair shaft more easily than heavier oils, helping to reduce the dry, straw-like texture that often appears on bleached or highlighted lengths. Bamboo extract contributes silica, which is associated with keratin structure; while a rinse-off product cannot rebuild broken bonds, regular use of a silica-containing shampoo can help hair feel more resilient between deeper treatments. If you have recently coloured your hair, wait 48–72 hours before the first wash, then use lukewarm water — hot water opens the cuticle and accelerates colour loss. Follow with a conditioner or mask suited to your porosity level for the best colour retention.
Can I use this shampoo every day, or is it meant for less frequent washing?
Daily washing is generally safe with this formula because it does not contain sodium lauryl sulphate, sodium laureth sulphate, or sodium chloride — the three ingredients most associated with scalp dehydration and cuticle roughening when used frequently. The bamboo extract and macadamia oil provide a light conditioning effect during the wash, so hair does not accumulate the "dry but greasy" contradiction that harsher daily shampoos can create. That said, whether you should wash daily depends on your scalp type, not just the shampoo. If your scalp produces visible oil by evening, daily washing with a gentle formula is reasonable. If your scalp feels tight or itchy after daily washing, try alternating with a co-wash (conditioner-only rinse) or simply rinsing with water on alternate days. For fine hair that gets limp quickly, a daily light cleanse can actually maintain volume better than letting sebum weigh roots down. For thick, curly, or coarse hair, washing every 2–3 days is often enough; the shampoo's mildness means you won't need to "clarify" afterward to remove buildup. Pay attention to how your scalp feels 2–3 hours post-wash — that is the best indicator of frequency.
What should I do if my scalp reacts with itching or redness after using this shampoo?
Although this shampoo is formulated without sulphates, sodium chloride, and common harsh foaming agents, any cosmetic product can cause a reaction in someone with a specific ingredient sensitivity. The most common triggers in natural-origin shampoos are essential oils, plant extracts, or preservative systems — even at low concentrations. If you experience itching, burning, redness, or small bumps on the scalp, neck, or behind the ears, discontinue use immediately and rinse the area with plenty of lukewarm water. Avoid scratching, which can worsen inflammation and introduce infection. Do not apply other hair products (styling, oils, treatments) to the irritated area until it has fully calmed down, typically 2–5 days. If symptoms persist beyond 48 hours, spread beyond the contact area, or include swelling, consult a dermatologist or pharmacist; they can help identify whether it is contact dermatitis, an allergic reaction, or a coincidental flare of a condition like seborrheic dermatitis. For future purchases, keep a note of the INCI list (on the bottle) so a specialist can cross-reference potential allergens. A patch test behind the ear before full scalp application is a prudent habit with any new hair product, especially if you have a history of cosmetic sensitivity.

What it is

Planeta Zdorovia Bamboo & Macadamia Shampoo is a sulphate-free shampoo for all hair types, created for people who want cleansing that feels mild rather than stripping. It combines organic bamboo extract with macadamia oil, so the formula focuses not only on washing the scalp and hair, but also on helping lengths look smoother, softer and less fragile after cleansing.

Key ingredients

  • Bamboo extract — valued in hair cosmetics for its naturally high silica content. Silica is associated with the structure of keratin, the main protein that gives hair its strength. In simple terms, bamboo extract is included in shampoos like this to help hair feel more resilient and less prone to looking weak or brittle, especially if it is long, dull or stressed by brushing, heat styling or changing weather.
  • Macadamia oil — rich in fatty acids, including palmitoleic acid, which has a lipid profile close to the skin’s own sebum. That makes it a good emollient for hair products, because it helps soften the hair surface, reduce roughness and add flexibility without a heavy, oily finish.

Why the formula is gentle

Another practical point is what the formula leaves out. A sulphate-free and sodium chloride-free shampoo usually gives a gentler cleanse than harsher foaming systems, which can suit people whose scalp feels easily dehydrated or whose hair becomes coarse after washing. This kind of formula can fit well into a regular hair regimen if you want a softer wash for natural hair, coloured lengths or ends that need a smoother feel.

When people choose it

This shampoo is a good option if you are looking for a Bulgarian cosmetic shampoo that balances cleansing with conditioning plant ingredients. It can suit someone who:

  • washes hair often and wants a less aggressive foam;
  • is trying to keep hair looking more polished from root to tip;
  • prefers a softer wash for natural or coloured hair.

Important notes

If your scalp is very sensitive or you react easily to cosmetic ingredients, it is sensible to watch how your skin responds at first. Avoid contact with eyes and stop use if irritation or allergy appears.
