Is this shampoo suitable for coloured or chemically treated hair?

Colour-treated and chemically processed hair (highlights, keratin treatments, perms) has a more porous cuticle that loses moisture and pigment faster when washed with harsh surfactants. Sulphate-free formulas are widely recommended by colourists because they cleanse without aggressively stripping artificial pigment or the lipid barrier that keeps processed hair flexible. The macadamia oil in this formula is particularly relevant here: its fatty acid profile, rich in palmitoleic and oleic acids, mimics the skin's own sebum and penetrates the hair shaft more easily than heavier oils, helping to reduce the dry, straw-like texture that often appears on bleached or highlighted lengths. Bamboo extract contributes silica, which is associated with keratin structure; while a rinse-off product cannot rebuild broken bonds, regular use of a silica-containing shampoo can help hair feel more resilient between deeper treatments. If you have recently coloured your hair, wait 48–72 hours before the first wash, then use lukewarm water — hot water opens the cuticle and accelerates colour loss. Follow with a conditioner or mask suited to your porosity level for the best colour retention.
