Black pepper has not been added for pungency. It contains piperine, a natural compound that helps the body absorb the curcuminoids from turmeric better. Without it, a significant part of the active substances of turmeric passes through the digestive tract practically unabsorbed, which is a long-known property of curcuminoids.
The liquid format is convenient because there are no capsules to wash down or powder to stir: it is enough to shake the bottle well, measure out 30 ml of juice and mix it with 200 ml of water; you can add a little honey or salt to taste.
Despite its plant origin, there are situations in which this product calls for caution.
