The semi-permanent direct dye formula deposits colour molecules onto the hair cuticle and outer cortex surface during the foaming application process, providing a progressive colour enhancement that is buildable by varying the development time. Unlike permanent oxidative dyes, no peroxide developer is required and the hair's internal cortex structure is preserved. The formula contains aloe vera extract (Aloe barbadensis gel) for conditioning softness and natural shine, and a UV filter that protects the deposited colour from fading by UV radiation exposure. The colour result lasts 4–8 shampoo washes depending on development time (20 minutes for 4–5 washes; 45 minutes for approximately 8 washes).
