FARMGRUPP Pine Buds are dried spring buds of the Scots pine (Pinus sylvestris), harvested before they open in early spring. Pine buds are a traditional ingredient in European and Russian herbal preparations and are noted for their particularly high content of essential oil — the aromatic fraction that gives pine preparations their characteristic fresh, resinous, and invigorating forest scent. The essential oil of pine buds is composed predominantly of monoterpene hydrocarbons (alpha- and beta-pinene, delta-3-carene, limonene) and additional terpene compounds.
In addition to the essential oil, pine buds contain resinous substances, tannins, flavonoids, and vitamins C and B2. The buds are used to prepare aromatic herbal teas and infusions as well as steam inhalation preparations, where the volatile terpene compounds are released into the steam. The N40 pack format indicates the product is provided as 40 teabags or similar measured portions — see packaging.

FARMGRUPP Männipungad N40 by Farm Group is a herbal tea made from dried spring buds of Scots pine. People usually choose pine buds when they want a warming, aromatic infusion with a fresh forest character rather than an ordinary tea. Because the buds are collected before opening, they retain the resinous and volatile compounds that give pine its bright, crisp scent.
The main interest in pine buds lies in their essential oil. This aromatic fraction contains terpenes such as:
In plain language, these are the plant’s naturally fragrant compounds that are released into hot water and steam during brewing. They create the distinctive pine aroma and the fresh sensation many people associate with conifer infusions. Pine buds also contain tannins and flavonoids. Tannins add a slightly astringent note, while flavonoids are plant compounds valued in herbal traditions for their protective role inside the plant itself. Small amounts of vitamin C and B2 add to the profile, although this product is usually chosen for its herbal character and aroma rather than as a vitamin source.
Pine buds have a long place in Northern and Eastern European herbal use, especially in seasonal infusions during colder months. This makes FARMGRUPP pine buds a good fit for those who enjoy traditional botanical drinks, resinous herbal teas, or a more varied tea cupboard. It can suit:
The format is practical: measured portions make it easier to brew a consistent infusion without handling loose plant material. For a fuller taste, the buds need time in hot water so the volatile oils and other plant substances can unfold properly.
As with other strong herbal infusions, start moderately if pine bud tea is new to you, especially if you are sensitive to aromatic plants or resin‑rich botanicals. If you are pregnant, breastfeeding, giving herbs to a child, or using it alongside a long‑term health regimen, it is sensible to ask a qualified specialist for advice.
